Homecoming 2023

The anniversary of our association was celebrated once again with the Homecoming: 20 years of LMU Management Alumni!

On Friday evening, 24 November 2023, the big Homecoming took place in the main building of the LMU from 17:00.
20 years of promoting, informing and networking was and is only possible with you, our members, interested parties and sponsors. That's why they took centre stage at the event.

After initial guided tours of the main building and the ‘White Rose Memorial Exhibition’ at Ludwig Maximilian University and a separate Dean's Reception, the event officially began at around 5 p.m. in the Audimax with a welcome from President Prof. Dr Bernd Huber, a virtual greeting from State Minister Dr Florian Herrmann and introductory words from Dean Prof. Dr Christian Hofmann. This was followed by a varied plenary session on the topic of ‘Purpose and Profit: Win-win or conflict of objectives?’ moderated by Prof Dr Jelena Spanjol. A highlight of the plenary session was certainly the short review of the beginnings of the Alumni Association and its development, which was briefly presented by Dr Bettina Wachtel. We were delighted to be able to honour some members of the former founding team on stage. As a small token of appreciation, those present were presented with a certificate, an anniversary sparkling wine and a jar of honey from the university forest.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the evening's speakers once again:
- Dr Sophie Ahrens-Gruber, Principal Acton Capital
- Dr Florian Habermann, Managing Director IHK Academy Swabia
- Markus Niedermeier, Managing Director LHI Group

After the plenary discussion, there was a varied programme in the Lichtof, Speerträger and Senatssaal: in the so-called ‘Cluster Areas’, participants of the event received information on current use cases and research results and were able to exchange ideas with the academic staff of the faculty.

Various ‘rooms’ were also created for personal discussions with current and former students of our faculty, e.g. at Meet & Connect, where participants had the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas using profiles.

The evening was then cosy in the atrium illuminated by Gene Aichner (Visual Arts) and in the lounge in the Senate Hall with cocktail bar. Foosball tables were available for fun in between and a walk through the art exhibition by Studio Zeiler also provided variety. A rich buffet and various drinks, including at the mulled wine stand and the well-stocked bar, catered for everyone's physical well-being.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you and our partners Deloitte GmbH, Serviceplan and Anheuser-Busch InBev once again for the wonderful anniversary celebration.
